Dry, fresh cabins on the catamaran “Princess Vera”
Katrin Dittrich, owner of Yacht & Meer, is not only a passionate catamaran sailor but also the proud owner of a Bali 4.4 catamaran named “Princess Vera”. It has a three-cabin layout, with the owner's cabin on the port side and two guest cabins on the starboard side. As a boat lover, her goal is to offer her team and other guests unforgettable sailing days in the Caribbean from January 2027, from Martinique to the famous Tobago Cays, and she is already looking for interested participants. To prepare her catamaran for the tour and create a unique experience, she is looking for suppliers of exceptional products. After using them herself, she offers them in her online shop, where her main product is the drinking water disinfectant “ADD.ONE” by Noxefin. It is used on boats and in caravans, among other places, to clean the drinking water system hygienically and provide healthy drinking water for the whole crew. Yacht & Meer also offers weekend charters for up to four guests in Lemmer in the Netherlands, giving sailing fans unforgettable experiences on the water. The challenge
Musty smell caused by moisture
During sleep, a person sweats out about half a litre on average. This moisture has to be carried away properly, otherwise it stays in the mattress and causes mould and the musty smell that comes with it. On longer voyages in particular, a musty smell from damp mattresses in the cabin can become a real burden. It affects how comfortable everyone feels on board and, through mould spores for example, can also harm health. This is why choosing the right materials and products that ventilate the mattress from below and carry moisture away is so important.
Mould growth
Constant exposure to moisture encourages mould, which can cause problems on a boat. Surfaces without sufficient ventilation, such as seats beneath cushions, are particularly at risk, both inside and outside. This leads not only to unsightly stains but also to serious health risks and unpleasant odours.
