Mattress underlay against moisture

Do you have a damp mattress that causes odours and mould?

Everyone loses a certain amount of water through their skin and breath during sleep. The mattress absorbs the moisture, which then finds its way to the coldest part of the mattress: the underside of the mattress! As soon as the moisture has reached the base of the mattress, it can go no further, which is why the area becomes clammy.

Avoid mould forming on the mattress

A consistently damp underside of the mattress leads to mould growth. Mould spores spread in the air in a similar way to pollen or pollen. Inhaling mould can cause allergic symptoms: A runny nose, moist and itchy eyes, rash, breathing difficulties and nausea are just some of them.

The solution: the Matnext Airflow underlay

By placing the Matnext Airflow 3D Mesh underlay under your mattress, you create an air space between the mattress and your current underlay. This allows air to circulate between the materials. Moisture can escape and evaporate, keeping your mattress dry in the future and preventing mould from forming. This can extend the life of your mattress by several years.

Motorhome mattress base

When travelling, you often place your mattress directly on a tabletop in the caravan or motorhome or lay it on the floor in the roof tent. Moisture quickly collects, especially between the tabletop and the mattress. In addition, unpleasant odours often develop and the mattress starts to become mouldy if it is left in your mobile home for a long time. Until now, the only way to prevent this was to set up and air the mattress and upholstery every day. You can actively prevent waterlogging with the camping mattress underlay. Simply cut your mattress base to size for your caravan, motorhome, boat or roof tent.

The most important information about the Matnext Airflow 3D Mesh mattress base:

Matnext Airflow Anti slip clips

For 10mm and 20mm mattress pads

Beschreibung

The Matnext Anti-Slip Set is the perfect complement to our 3D mesh mattress pads.

The practical clips ensure that the mesh fabric adheres to the substrate and no longer slips sideways. A set consists of four small plastic parts (2.5cm x 3cm) that are attached to the underside of the mattress pad. Thanks to a double-sided adhesive surface, you can stick the clips to any smooth surface or alternatively screw them on. Then the mesh fabric is simply pulled over the knobs of the clips with a little pressure. The Matnext Anti-Slip Clips are universally applicable and can be combined with both variants of our mesh mattress pad (10mm and 20mm) as well as any special sizes. You can use our set at home as well as in your motorhome, caravan or boat to prevent your sleeping surface from slipping.

Small and practical: The Matnext Anti-Slip Clips consist of four small plastic parts (2.5cm x 3cm) that maximize the slip resistance of our mesh mattress pads in no time.

High stability: The knobs on the clips grip into the 3D mesh fabric even with slight pressure. This prevents your sleeping surface from slipping sideways.

Universally applicable: The clips can be attached to any surface and combined with both variants of our mesh mattress pad (10mm and 20mm).

Easy attachment: Thanks to a double-sided adhesive surface, the clips can be easily glued to the smooth surface or optionally screwed onto the holes in the clip.

      FAQ – Frequently asked questions

Can the Airflow mattress pads be cut to size by hand?

YES – curves and corner cutouts can easily be done yourself with a good pair of household or tailor’s scissors.

If you need further help, please contact us at info@matnext.com or via our contact form.

Does the mattress base lose stability after cutting?

NO – after cutting it is not necessary to sew the mattress pads. Thanks to the honeycomb structure, the base does not lose its stability even without a seam.

TIP: Cut the material in a place that you can then sweep or vacuum. When the material is cut through, threads come loose at the cut edge, which can easily be vacuumed off after shaking vigorously. There is no risk of the material dissolving.

Can both versions of the 3D Mesh underlays be folded or rolled?

YES – we deliver the spacer fabric in handy boxes. You can fold and store the mattress pad just as easily.

Are the Matnext Airflow mattress pads washable?

YES – the mattress pads are made of a dirt-resistant polyester mesh that can be washed in the washing machine at up to 40 degrees. Light dirt can also be easily removed in the bathtub or shower with the shower. Due to its nature, the material basically does not absorb any odors or moisture. At the same time, it dries very quickly after washing because liquids simply flow through.

Is there a risk that the material will compress under load?

NO – spacer fabric is very durable and can withstand loads of several hundred kilos due to the weight distribution over the entire surface. The many upright polyester threads make it possible for the material to return to its original shape even under point loads.

Is the 10mm or the stronger PLUS version of the 20mm mattress base suitable for me?

Both mattress pads serve their purpose and prevent condensation, waterlogging and mold formation under your upholstery. If you want to ventilate small areas that do not require a significant increase in comfort, we recommend our cheaper 10mm Airflow mattress underlay. Anyone who wants to gain noticeable comfort, lie softer and ventilate wide areas should use the 20mm “PLUS” underlay.

Can the Airflow mattress pad also be used on the floor or on a plywood base?

YES – the original purpose of our 3D Mesh underlays is to provide ventilation for those mattresses that are not on a classic slatted frame. This is particularly common in caravans, mobile homes, boats or even at home on the ground. The Matnext Airflow 3D underlay for mattresses on the floor ensures a healthy sleeping environment. To prevent slipping, we recommend our Matnext anti-slip clips for every mattress base.

Is the mattress pad also suitable for use in a roof tent?

YES – a 3D mesh mattress base is recommended by all leading camping professionals, especially in the roof tent.

TIP: Experience has shown that the slightly thinner 10mm mattress base is more suitable for use in a roof tent with a hard shell. Due to the limited space, it may happen that the roof tent can no longer be closed with the 20mm version. We therefore recommend choosing the Matnext Airflow mattress base with a thickness of 10mm for the roof tent.
